Valley Building Professionals Judge the 2018 Coastal Bend Parade of Homes

While the Coastal Bend area sent some of its building professionals to serve as judges for the Rio Grande Valley Builders Association’s Parade of Homes, the Rio Grande Valley reciprocated by sending a group of its professionals to judge the Parade in Corpus Christi and surrounding Coastal Bend area. (The dates for the Coastal Bend Parade of Homes were June 1-3 and 8-10).

Among the judges who traveled to Corpus Christi, Texas, for the judging were Pedro, Lourdes, and Jonathan Vargas, owners of Innovative Construction, a company that was itself recognized last year by a panel of Parade of Homes judges, earning the prestigious “Best of Show Award” as well as awards for “Best Model” and “Most Energy Efficient.” The Innovative Construction team of judges was impressed with how well the homes in the Coastal Bend area were constructed—especially with the construction behind the walls and compliance with
building codes.

Joining the Vargas family in the judging was Sandra Garza, Materiales El Valle’s in-house interior designer. Sandra has been in the interior design industry since 1991, and in addition to formal education in the field of interior design, her unique skills include training as a “Surfacing Specialist.” This special training allows Sandra to share valuable information with her customers about the differences, benefits, or disadvantages of all types of products, including natural stone products and porcelain or ceramic. Her knowledge and eagle eye were a tremendous advantage as a judge.
